The CPUC “LastMile Federal Funding Account” Award to Yurok Telecommunications Corporation to build fiber to the home -broadband in Del Norte and Humboldt counties. The CPUC’s
Last- Mile Fund is part of its $2 billion statewide mandate, aimed at closing digital gaps— granting over $674 million to projects across 30 counties so far.

Project rollout: Construction is to planned to begin in late 2025, early 2026 aligning with construction timelines of State middle mile project and other YTEL broadband projects. Yurok
Telecommunications Corporation will launch a Community Engagement and on reservation service programs once build-out is underway.

This CPUC grant provides vital support for Yurok-led last-mile broadband, enabling delivery of high-speed internet to tribal homes and community sites. Working in tandem with middle-mile
backbone efforts, it represents a major advancement in bridging the digital divide across Yurok lands.
