Yurok Telecommunications Corporation was honored to travel to Sacramento to take part in this year’s Native American Heritage Parade! The event brought together Tribal Nations, organizations, and community members from across California to celebrate Native culture, resilience, and contributions throughout history. It was a powerful opportunity to highlight the importance of visibility and representation for Indigenous peoples. YTEL staff proudly joined the parade, representing the Yurok Tribe and our ongoing mission to expand access to reliable broadband service in Tribal communities.
As part of the day’s events, a few YTEL team members also participated in the Yurok Tribe’s cultural demonstration. Sharing these cultural traditions in the heart of the state’s capital reminded everyone of the enduring strength of California’s first peoples and the importance of preserving these ways of life for future generations.
Participating in the Native American Heritage Parade was not only a celebration of culture but also a reflection of our purpose as a tribally owned corporation—to build bridges between technology and tradition.
